What’s driving the economy in the Orana region and what the future looks like will be key topics of discussion at the upcoming Orana Outlook Forum, to be held on 17 November 2023 in Dubbo.
An impressive line-up of speakers has been secured for the event including the Minister for Agriculture, Minister for Regional NSW and Minister for Western NSW, the Hon Tara Moriarty.
The Forum will focus on building confidence in the region and providing updates on regional projects, including:
Keynote speaker, Circular Australia Managing Director and CEO,Lisa McLean will provide a lunch address, and discuss building a regional circular economy, the opportunities available and why regional businesses need to change business-as-usual habits of take, make and waste behaviour to create a sustainable future.
The future of the road network in our region will be at the forefront of discussion by Transport for NSW Regional Director West, Alistair Lunn who will be on hand to discuss major infrastructure projects in the region and the outcomes of the Strategic Infrastructure Review. Alistair will also provide details on upgrades to the road network in the Dubbo, Mid-Western and Warrumbungle local government areas as part of the renewable energy zone.
The visitor economy will be explained by Destination Country and Outback NSW General Manager, Lucy White who will detail what it means and how a tourist and tourism supports the region. She will delve into the benefits of collaboration between businesses, governments and the community and how the industry is changing to support new groups and experiences.
